Kynning á ferð

Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek is a 19-day journey that combines the remote Tsum Valley with the full Manaslu Circuit route. The journey begins when you arrive in Kathmandu and then the journey takes you to Jagat where the trail begins. Here the trail slowly passes into the Tsum Valley via Lokpa and you are thrown into the more peaceful villages such as Chumling, Chekampar, and Nile. This section of the hike allows you time to adapt to the pace of the walk and even see fewer people. The trail then turns back after visiting Mu Gompa and leads back to the main Manaslu trail that then goes to higher settlements ofNamrung, Shyala and SamaGaun.

In the case of the Himalayan Adventure Treks, the itinerary is set in such a way that it maintains a gradual progress and sufficient acclimatization with a balanced walking day. The Tsum Valley Manaslu trek section focuses more on cultural experience and gradual altitude gain, while the later part of the journey becomes more physically demanding as you move toward higher elevations. The road passes through villages which provide basic teahouse accommodation and the walking hours will be scheduled on an hourly basis, so that the trek is not rushed. The itinerary also involves an acclimatization day at SamaGaun where you will do a hike to the Manaslu Base Camp that will help your body adjust to the higher terrain.

The trail, after leaving SamaGaun, passes through Samdo and Dharmasala and then over Larkya La Pass, the highest point of the trip. This section of the Short Manaslu Circuit trek requires more effort due to altitude and terrain, but the route remains non-technical for trekkers. It follows the Bimthang trail to Tilije, at the end of which the trek culminates and then the road is taken back to Kathmandu. This is a good route when one wishes to visit both regions on a single trip with a well-planned schedule that encompasses both culture visiting and high-altitude trekking experience.

There is also the trek that incorporates walking through a diverse scenery that begins with the lower river valleys and slowly changing to higher alpine ranges. The paths go through the forests, suspension bridges, and narrow trails along the BudhiGandaki River and then into the broader valleys around Samagaun and further. The weather may vary with increase in altitude, where the mornings and evenings are colder in high villages. This Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trekrequires steady pacing and basic preparation so that trekkers can handle both the distance and changing conditions throughout the journey.

Upplýsingar um ferð

How Difficult is Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek?

The Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek is considered a moderate to challenging trek due to its duration and altitude. The amount of hours that you will walk will be 5 to 7 hours a day but there will be some longer days in the process of passing the pass. It is an uphill track with some gradual ascends, sharp ascends and pathways with a lot of rocks, particularly around the Larkya La Pass at 5,160 meters. It is not technical climbing, and it is physically challenging due to its altitude and effort on a daily basis.

Past trekking experience is an advantage but not mandatory. This journey can be done by fit beginners who plan their preparation. The schedule will involve the gradual accumulation of elevation and a day of acclimatization in SamaGaun to help your body. Even at a slow speed, keep yourself hydrated, and have your guide, the walk will be comfortable and not dangerous.

Veður og besti tími

The Tsum Valley Manaslu trek is best during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). These seasons typically include stable weather, moderate temperatures, and clearer skies. In the spring, the lower areas are warmer, and the trails go through the green forests and villages. Daytime temperature is pleasant to walk around and nights get cooler as elevation increases.

Autumn also is a good season with fresh air after the monsoon and good visibility. Skies are generally clear, and the views of the mountains along the route are easier to enjoy. Days are still nice enough, but nights will be cold as you ascend higher. Monsoon has heavy rain and slippery trails, and winter is colder with potential snow near the pass. For the best trekking conditions in terms of comfort, spring and autumn are the best times of the year for Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek.

Matur og drykkur

During the Short Manaslu Circuit trek, we will have three meals a day in local teahouses along the route. Meals are simple and freshly made and are suited to trekking conditions. The most common meal is the dal bhat, which is rice, lentils, vegetables and pickles. It gives you steady energy for those long walking days and it is very available.

Other food options include noodle soup, fried rice, potatoes, eggs and sometimes pasta or dumplings. Vegetarian meals are widespread and often recommended in remote areas. Safe drinking water is important so we will use either boiled water or purification methods. Tea, coffee and hot drinks are available in most of the villages. Eating regularly and staying hydrated help to maintain energy throughout the Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek.

Hæðarveiki

The ManasluTsum Valley itinerary reaches high elevations, so altitude sickness is an important factor to understand. The highest point of the trek is Larkya La Pass (5,160 meters). At this level you might find some trekkers suffer from symptoms such as headache, dizziness or difficulty sleeping. These are common signs as your body acclimates to the thinner air.

The itinerary is planned with gradual ascent and has an acclimatization day within the itinerary with SamaGaun. We will walk at a constant rate and take breaks as necessary. It is important to drink enough water and listen to your body. If some symptoms appear, it is necessary to rest and avoid going higher. In more serious cases, getting to a lower altitude is the safest option. With the proper care, most trekkers make it through Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trekjourney without any major problems.

Undirbúningur og líkamsrækt

Good preparation will make your Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trekmore comfortable and easier one to deal with. This trekrequires steady endurance rather than speed. You do not need to be an athlete, but it is highly recommended to perform regular training prior to the trip. The focus should be on developing cardiovascular fitness and leg strength.

Activities like hiking, walking, stair climbing and cycling can help prepare your body. It is a good idea to walk around for several hours with a light backpack before the trek. Mental preparation also is important, as the trek is a trek of simple accommodation and remote conditions. Breaking in your trekking boots ahead of your trip can avoid discomfort. With the right preparation, you will feel more confident and be prepared for the journey.

Vegabréfsáritun og leyfi

For the Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek, trekkers need specific permits because this route passes through restricted and protected areas. Manaslu Restricted Area Permit, Tsum Valley Restricted Area Permit, Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP), Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and TIMS card will be required. These permits are checked at various points along the trail.

Tsum Valley Manaslu trekcannot be done independently. As this is a restricted-area route, trekkers must travel through a registered trekking agency with a licensed guide. We will arrange all necessary permits before the beginning of the trek and you do not have to worry about the process. You only need to provide a copy of your passport and photos. Proper permits ensure that you will have a smooth travel and maintain the regulations in the region.

They check up on you and help you in case of any health complications. You should inform your guide when you are feeling ill or experiencing any abnormal conditions on the trek.

It is important to keep hygiene as well. We will encourage regular cleaning of hands and use of safe drinking water. Teahouses prepare meals and it is advisable to consume freshly cooked food. The tracks are not smooth everywhere, and one should take his time. Precautions and guidance make the Tsum Valley Manaslu trek safe and easy to most of the trekkers.

samgöngur

Transportation for the Short Manaslu Circuit trek begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Jagat, which is the starting point of the trek. The journey is a mixture of paved road and rough track and passes both rural landscapes and river valleys. At the end of the trek, we will drive back to Kathmandu from Tilije again using a combination of local roads and highways.

All the transportation arrangements during Short Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trekare made in advance so that it is a smooth experience.
