The Manang Mustang motorbike tour has been made for those who always have the urge to deviate and go off-road, a dream that only a tiny fraction of people achieve in their entire lives.
And what’s more, Himalayan Adventure Treks has also added a pilgrimage and faith route to Muktinath, thus making your Manang Mustang motorbike tour 10 days journey even more profound.
The route that we have designed for you will cut through the interiors of the unique landscape of the Annapurna Circuit in Manang. It will also take you through the beautiful spiritual road of Lower Mustang in between the massive icy peaks of the gorgeous Himalayas of Annapurna, Tukuche, Fishtail, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri.
If you also want purpose, spiritual connection, and the pleasure of riding through landscapes full of history and symbolism, then trust us, the Manang Mustang tour is made for you.
On this stunning Manang Mustang motorbike tour itinerary, you will travel in a tough-built off-road Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 or Honda CRF 250. Both are known for their strength, dependability, and capability for off-road and long travel journeys.
Discovering the diverse landscape from Jagat to Manang, you will experience a standout moment in Gangapurna Glacial Lake (3440 m) resting under the impressive shadow of the Gangapurna Peak in Manang.
Along this route of the Manang Mustang motorbike tour, you will experience the warm welcome of the Gurung and Manangi communities, glimpsing into their time-honored Buddhist heritage.
Your path will then deviate towards the stunning paradise of Pokhara, where the peaceful Lake Phewa awaits your arrival. This is the perfect place to relax with a drink after several thrilling yet tiring days of touring.
Next, the Manang Mustang motorbike tour will elevate your experience as you ride through Kushma, known for the second-highest bungee jump cliff in the world.
You will then drive through Tatopani, Kalopani, and the Thakali towns of Marpha, Jomsom, and Kagbeni of Lower Mustang alongside the depth of the Kali Gandaki gorge to reach Muktinath.
After a spiritual experience of the faith of Hinduism and Buddhism in Muktinath, you will take a detour to Bandipur before Kathmandu, a timeless Newari town with its red-bricked pathways and quiet streets beneath the Annapurna.
All through the Manang Mustang motorbike tour, we have chosen the quiet roads of the Gandaki province, passing the national conservation land of Annapurna that offers both tranquility and stunning scenery.

Right by the overflowing Marshyangdi River, the easy dirt road of Lamjung will drive you through the beautiful little settlements of Khudi, Bhulbhule (840 m), Nagadi (930 m), Dobhantar, Ghermu, Bahun Danda, and Syange before we see Jagat.

Day 03: Ride from Jagat to Manang, 3519 m, 65 km.
Today is the journey of transitioning from the green, hilly, rich terrain of Jagat to the desert landscape of Manang. After our bed and breakfast, our Manang Mustang motorbike tour will cross Chamje (1430 m).
The ride now leads through the stunning ascending trail towards the village of Tal (1700 m), lying quietly inside the expanse of the huge Manang Valley.
A landscape of hills is now eclipsed by the icy presence of Manaslu, Annapurna, and Himalchuli. The rugged mountain trail testing our flexibility will lead steeply upward through Karte and then Dharapani (1900 m).
The road of the Annapurna trail continues to become more rugged, bumpy, and rough, which will keep elevating through Bagarchhap (2160 m), Danakyu, and Timang (2300 m).
Frequently, a short rest will offer us the chance to look at the intense snowy profiles of Lamjung Himal, followed by Manaslu and Annapurna II and IV.
Hold on to your clutches as the next 100 m ascent will be steeper, climbing through the alpine settlements of Lata Marang, Koto (2600 m), and then Chame (2650 m).
We are deeper inside the Himalayan terrain of Manang Valley. Remember to pause and stretch, cooling down your engines for a while. Continuing on, Bhratang at 2850 m will advance us onward to the solidly hung floating bridge, which will ascend us to Dhukur Pokhari.
The 1500 m high rock boulder, standing as Paungdi Danda, is an amazing spot to see the surrounding panorama. Our track will now twist along the dusty stony road to Lower Pisang and then Upper Pisang (3300 m).
For more adrenaline pumping, we will take the overhanging trail through Ghyaru overlooking the shimmering peaks of Chulu East and West. Be careful, the road will keep ascending more and more through Ngawal (3657 m) and suddenly drop down towards Bragha (3450 m).
A moment of pause here can be made memorable with a detour to the Bragha Monastery, still standing after 500 years. You are also standing at a spot where you can make your personal reels with the eternal companions of Chulu, Pisang, Lamjung, Annapurna II and IV, Gangapurna, and Tilicho.
Let’s keep accelerating for 20 minutes more through the unforgiving rocky trails and arrive at Manang, which brims with extraordinary natural treasures.

We have planned an early morning excursion on foot to the amazingly beautiful high glacial lake in Manang called Gangapurna. It has been lying for centuries just beneath the colossal giant of Gangapurna Peak.
On its turquoise waters, we can see the reflection of the hanging Gangapurna glacier, Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Khangsar Kang. After a few hours of exquisite glacial experience, we will return to check on our ride and continue back towards Besisahar.
All the well-known villages and scenery that we have encountered on our journey to Manang will greet us again, but this time they will feel both familiar and different.
Leaving Manang and riding back to Besisahar will be heartbreaking, but the thrill of what lies ahead also excites us. The journey the next day will begin the second leg of our Manang Mustang motorbike tour, an exhilarating ride into the extraordinary region of Mustang.

Day 06: Ride from Pokhara to Kalopani, 2530 m, 125 km.
We are in Pokhara, and leaving this spot without seeing the rising sun from the Sarangkot will be like committing a crime. So, early morning, one hour prior to the sun showing its bright face, we will ascend the vertical steps of this admirable lookout tower at 1600 m and see the radiance of the Annapurnas, Himchuli, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung, and Tukuche.
Now, get ready to mount your motorbike and tour through the typical landscape of the Nepalese mountains along the Baglung Highway. Soon, Kushma Village will be a delight to see, known in the country for its longest hanging bridge and bungee jumping cliff, the second-highest in the world.
Revving our engines again, we will drive largely along the paved Highway towards Beni. The rugged scenery will welcome us once again, testing our riding prowess.
After a smooth 80 km ride, the trail will be rocky, which will elevate above the Kali Gandaki River. It will start to tighten till we are at the hot spring village of Tatopani (1200 m).
To give us a little bit of comfort, the road will turn a bit flat proceeding us to Dana (1446 m). The stunning Rupse Waterfall will be glorious to see for a moment.
Our ascending drive will resume again, uplifting us to Ghasa Village in 2012 m. En route, our tires will stop at Tukcuhe again for a small second before reaching Kalopani, known for its vibrant colors and culinary pleasures.

The time to reach the highest altitude of our Manang Mustang motorbike tour has arrived. Today will be yet another test of our riding abilities as we maneuver our bikes along the challenging, off-road, mountainous trails of Nepal.
From Kalopani, the Beni Jomsom Highway will take us through Kowang and Tukuche. The Kali Gandaki corridor will join the Highway and take us further through the amazing localities of Marpha, Jomsom, Ekle Bhatti, and Kagbeni.
At Kagbeni, we will pause our engine hums for a moment and visit the revered Buddhist Monastery, Kag Chode Thupten Samphel Ling. Muktinath is not too far away, a highly valued pilgrimage site in Hinduism and Buddhism.
We will tour this illustrious temple, surrounded by the vast jungle and the breathtaking Himalayas of Annapurna. The 108 natural springs here will spiritually refresh us, while the eternal flame here will erase all our sins.
After this exploration, we will prepare to get to Tatopani riding through Kagbeni, Jomsom, and Marpha. A little stop at Marpha to taste the apple wine will be great. Tukuche, Lete, and Ghasa will then show us our road towards Tatopani.

The Highway road will then turn to Bandipur, the old time-honored Newari town rich with red-bricked pathways, empty of the clamor of traffic and horns.
From this high, hilly town, we can stare at the heavenly sights of Gorkha in the east and Chitwan in the south. After the cozy settlement, and time permitted, we may take a gracious small tour of Chandi Barahi temple, Mukundeswari, Siddha cave, Patalidwar cave, and Khadka Devi Temple.

Best Season for the Manang Mustang Motorbike Tour
In Nepal, the motorcycle season generally starts in spring, beginning from March and occurring throughout April and May. Temperature will start to rise after long winter days, the roads start to get drier, and the landscape slowly starts to come to life.
These are the signs that indicate it’s time for you to go on the Manang Mustang motorbike tour.
If you miss spring, another beloved season for this tour will be in autumn, beginning from September and remaining throughout October and November.
The hot summer days and the dark, wet days of monsoon start to fade. The vegetation still remains young and blooming, and moreover, the roads will be driest with blue sky over your heads.
December, January, and February days will also be favorable, for they offer the driest climate of winter. However, the lower Mustang will be quite chilly and foggy in the morning and at night.
Likewise, the summer trails during June, July, and August will transform into slippery and muddy tracks. The days will be less bright, and visibility will be reduced, which is the opposite of what you need for your motorbike adventure.
Difficulty Grade of Manang Mustang Motorbike Tour 10 Days Adventure
Our Manang Mustang motorbike tour is not about reaching extreme mountain altitudes. Instead, this tour will limit your greatest heights to just 3710 m at Muktinath.
However, each day, you will cover an average distance of around 100 km, riding for 5 to 6 hours on your beloved motorcycle. The roads on this tour will be mainly paved Highways, but you should also expect to meet the dirt off-roads in the mountainous landscape of Nepal.
Some sections will be steep, some may be inclined, some may suddenly bend, while some may drop you down sharply. Thus, your bike handling abilities for this tour should be excellent, so that you need no supervision.
Luckily, the route we have chosen for you on our Manang Mustang motorbike tour doesn’t contain any high passes or technical elements. So the route will be pretty manageable for the experienced riders.
You should also remember that the bike you are handling in this tour is the renowned Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 or the Honda CRF, which demands confidence and skill.
Thus, all these elements make our Manang Mustang motorbike tour 10 days journey a moderate-level adventure that needs a bit of biking skills and some on-road riding experience.
Which one to choose: Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 or Honda CRF for our Manang Mustang Motorbike Tour Itinerary?
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 and Honda CRF 250 both stand as fantastic options for the incredible terrain of the Manang Mustang motorbike tour.
The Himalayan 411 is strong and reliable, making it a perfect friend for long off-road adventures. The CRF 250, on the other hand, is lighter in weight and known for excelling well on technical sections of the trails.
The Himalayan 411 has a dependable, solid engine that can handle any tough conditions on the road. Whether it’s a gravel path, an ascending rocky trail, or loose sand, the Himalayan 411 will offer you comfort while riding.
On the other hand, the Honda CRF 250 is known to enhance your agility with excellent suspension and a responsive engine, making it suitable for both on-road and off-road speeds.
Its engine has an excellent power-to-weight ratio, thus offering you ease in handling and balancing its performance.
Thus, for our Manang Mustang motorbike tour, we give you the option of choosing between these two remarkable machines. If you think speed and lightness are what you need, go for the CRF 250. If you think durability is the one to depend on, Himalayan 411 is the one for you.

Our Manang Mustang motorbike tour is truly a unique journey where we have united two astounding locations of Annapurna in one tour, that too within a short span of time.
Our tour is literally one of a kind, and we guarantee that you won’t find a similar motorbike tour anywhere else. If you search online, you will see that we are the only authentic tour agency that has developed this route, combining these two fantastic locations in Nepal.
Besides this sole reason, other intriguing factors that will make you choose our Manang Mustang motorbike tour are:

You will have no time pressure and obligations, so you can ride along the magnificent skyline of Manang and Mustang without a care. Thus, you will have a spontaneous adventure that is most of the time inaccessible through other modes of travel.
Riding and Nature Connecting
Any motorbike tour will allow you to capture he real essence of nature. The aroma of the forests, the gentle warmth of the sun, and the melody of birds will give you a rich sensory immersion. Such an intimate connection with nature is only possible through the motorbike tour.

Plus, you will also get to establish a personal bond with the local communities and live partly what they live every day.
Altitude Sickness/AMS and Acclimatization
Every mountain journey, whether it’s trekking or touring, carries some risk of AMS. However, it is relatively low in our Manang Mustang motorbike tour 10 days trip as we stay below 4000 m through the journey.
This mountain altitude significantly reduces the severity of AMS. However, you may not be able to avoid minor discomforts of AMS due to quick changes in elevation and the drier climatic conditions of Manang and Mustang.
You have to understand that AMS, if identified early, can be 100 percent managed easily. It is the condition that indicates the effort of your body to adjust to the new conditions, often showing as headaches, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, and sleep issues.
We want all our motorcyclists to ride without too much discomfort, which is why we have focused on beginning the trip gently. Before reaching the higher areas of Manang and Mustang, we have also reduced the riding times so you can adapt gradually.
Likewise, drinking water on the trip and taking plenty of rest and sleep are the key steps to prevent the AMS. Diamox can also help you get used to the higher altitude quickly.
You can be assured our motorbike guide is skilled enough to manage such a condition.
How to prepare and train for the Manang Mustang Motorbike Tour Itinerary?
Before you hit the gas for our Manang Mustang motorbike tour, it is important that you prepare yourself for the long day rides and the bumps that come with them.
Riding on the Nepali mountain trails is tough, and by the end of the day, you may feel soreness in your back, legs, neck, and glute muscles (buttocks).
Therefore, we suggest you improve your riding skills through regular practice. Spend time getting used to both on-road and off-road riding, and make sure to stay alert throughout the day.
You can take a nice ride around your hometown with friends and explore the beautiful roads and scenery. For the pressure and exertion on your hands, legs, and back, we suggest you also practice chest presses, cross-body stretches, push-ups, and doorway stretches.
Then, start learning about the traffic rules of Nepal that can be very different from yours.
When the day comes to actually start your ride, make the habit of checking all fluids, including oil and coolant. Also, check your tires for pressure and condition.
When you hit the road, resist the temptation of speeding and practice sensible riding to get to your destination safely. Adjust your speed to the conditions, choose the best position on the road, and, most importantly, learn to know the behaviors of others.
And, finally, pack on the right and safest motorbike gear that must include a windproof and waterproof jacket, warm closed gloves, and a good helmet. Don’t forget to protect yourself from the sun with sunglasses or a sun visor on your helmet.
Accommodation and Meal
For your stay in Kathmandu and Pokhara, a good medium three-star rated hotel will comfort your nights. A double sharing room will be offered to you with bed and breakfast.
On the tour, a snug mountain guesthouse with double or two single beds will offer you a sanctuary for the night with warm meals and stories to tell.
In the Manang and Mustang trail, you will often (though not always) also get the attached bathroom along with the option of choosing a single room (if available).
If you pay a small surcharge, you will also get a hot shower, WiFi, and charging utilities. While riding, all meals from breakfast to dinner are taken care of, excluding snacks and drinks. The food along the route is simple yet delicious, offering choices from rice and meat to Tibetan bread and local pizza.
During your rides, all meals from breakfast to dinner are included, excluding snacks and drinks. The meals you will get on the road will vary from local varieties to sometimes international menus.
Travel Insurance
Please understand that getting travel insurance for our Manang Mustang motorbike tour is very crucial for obtaining the mandated permits for the tour.
Plus, travel insurance is the element that will protect you financially in the occurrence of any undesired events such as accidents or third-party damage.
Motorbike tours are a very comforting and freeing adventure, but at the same time, it is also a journey that has various risks. Injuries, fractures, accidents, AMS, and hurting or damaging pedestrians and public properties at the time of riding are just a few.
You may also damage the motorbike provided by the company, and the repair and maintenance costs will not be that cheap.
Thus, for our Manang Mustang motorbike tour 10 days trip, we kindly urge you to buy the travel insurance that includes helicopter rescue to 4000 m elevation.
Also, you should have coverage for bike damage, third-party liabilities, repair and maintenance, protection for your gear, along with medical support, and unexpected stays on the trip.
Essential Permits for the Manang Mustang Motorbike Tour
As stated, the Manang Mustang motorbike tour route runs through the interior of the large Annapurna Conservation Area, which is a protected territory. It therefore needs special permission for all the tourists to get inside this landmark in the form of an ACAP Permit.
Likewise, the TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System) will also be essential, which will enable the concerned authorities in Nepal to be aware of your location in case of any rescue and search.
The Nepal Tourism Board is the responsible government body for issuing both permits at NPR 3000 per rider for ACAP and NPR 2000 per rider for TIMS.
Since you have selected us as your traveling partner, Himalayan Adventure Treks will procure these permits in your interest.
Communication
Nepal has mainly two telecom networks that function in almost every part of Nepal. For the Manang Mustang motorbike tour, we suggest you get the Nepal Telecom SIM Card for dependable coverage all along the route.
Nepal Telecom, being the government-operated service, has broader coverage all over Nepal and also offers you better affordable data offers of the 4G network.
However, NCELL has also expanded its coverage now, and you can also get its SIM Card if you wish, which also allows you to use its 4G at a better price.

Private Manang Mustang Motorbike Tour or Group Manang Mustang Motorbike Tour
Himalayan Adventure Treks understands the distinct preferences and needs of its every guest. Some may love traveling in a group in the company of strangers, while others may want personal time and space exclusively with nature.
Thus, we offer both private and group motorbike tours in Nepal. For our Manang Mustang motorbike tour, we also provide both options at a similar price.
A private motorbike tour will give you more flexibility and personalized attention, while a group motorbike tour will offer you a shared experience.
On a private tour, you can ride alone or with your loved ones, avoiding strangers, but you won’t have the chance to meet other bikers. A group tour will enable you to connect with other motorcycle enthusiasts and enjoy the experience together.
Therefore, a group motorbike tour can be more fun and festive, but it will have less flexibility as the riding pace and itinerary are set in advance. You will also receive less personalized attention, as the guide must attend to the needs of the entire group. So ultimately, it comes to the experience you like to have.
