Trip Information
Weather and Best Season
Nepal has a varied climate, and choosing the right season will make your Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour more comfortable. This tour is best during spring, between March and May, and autumn between September and November.
The conditions in these months are generally warm and dry, the skies are clear, and the mountain top views are beautiful. During the spring, there are fresh green hills and flowers, and the autumn arrives after the summer rain, with clean air and an excellent view of the peaks.
The monsoon season occurs between June and August. During this time, there is frequent rain, clouds may hide the mountains, and some roads can become muddy and slower to travel on.
The lowlands, including Chitwan and Lumbini, are usually hot and damp with a daytime temperature of over thirty degrees. From December to February, winter days in Kathmandu and Pokhara are usually pleasant, but nights can be cold, and temperatures near sunrise in Nagarkot can approach freezing.
In general, Kathmandu in spring and autumn is about fifteen to twenty-five degrees in the daytime and five to ten degrees at night. Chitwan is twenty to thirty degrees throughout the year. Nagarkot is less humid, particularly in the early mornings.
For the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour, spring and autumn give the best mix of comfort, clear skies, and festival atmosphere. In case you are carrying some layers, a light jacket, and sun protection, you will have an opportunity to see all the main sights comfortably.
Food and Drink
Food is an enjoyable part of the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour. You will get a blend of Nepali and foreign cuisine. The primary traditional food is dal bhat, a lentil soup served with rice, vegetables, and curry.
Momos (dumplings with meat or with vegetables), noodle soups, light snacks, and fresh breads are also worth trying. In this luxury tour, most breakfast meals and some dinners will be provided at your lodges or hotels, which will typically provide both the local and the western cuisines.
In case your meals are not included, you may select restaurants in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini. Your guide will suggest to you clean and comfortable places. Vegetarian and vegan clients will have plenty of choices, and all you have to do is tell your guide that you have a particular need.
Only safe water should be used for drinking. Bottled or purified water will be served in hotels and lodges. It is advisable that you should not use tap water and ice cubes. Tea such as masala tea and ginger tea, coffee, and soft bottled beverages are generally safe. By drinking safe water and enjoying freshly cooked food, you will stay healthy and happy throughout the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour.
Altitude Sickness and Recommendations
On the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour, you will visit some higher viewpoints, but you will not stay at a very high altitude. The majority of the nights are spent in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini, which are all at easy heights.
The top point of this road is Nagarkot at a slightly above two thousand one hundred meters. Serious altitude sickness usually becomes a concern above about two thousand five hundred to three thousand meters, so the risk on this tour is very low.
When climbing a hill, you might experience slight breathlessness, particularly when you are not accustomed to elevation, but this condition typically subsides in a short time. To be comfortable, you ought to take plenty of water, walk at a slow pace, not too much alcohol, and light meals in the evenings in high places.
In case you have a slight headache, you may sleep and inform your guide. In case you are ever ill, your guide can either get you some extra rest or get you down to a lower location like Kathmandu.
It is advisable to talk to your doctor before you travel, particularly when you have heart or lung diseases. With this simple care, most guests complete the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour without any altitude problems.
Visa and Permits
For the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour, you will need a tourist visa for Nepal. This visa is offered to most travelers upon entry into Kathmandu airport or at the major land borders.
You will complete a brief document, present your passport, and pay the visa processing fee. In the current scenario, fifteen days of a visa is normally sufficient for this tour. You must have a valid passport with at least six months remaining before its expiry date and at least one blank page for the visa stamp.
This tour does not enter into restricted mountain areas, and this means that you do not require any special trekking permits. Entry tickets for national parks, museums, and heritage sites that are part of the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour are arranged for you by your operator and are included in the package.
In case of your wish to prolong your stay, accompanied by trekking in the conservation areas or visiting other nations like Bhutan or Tibet, additional visas and permits might be needed. Your travel consultant will be able to guide you before you travel, such that you have all the required documents beforehand.
Health and Safety
Your health and safety are very important on the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour. Generally, Nepal is a friendly and safe nation, and you will be accompanied by your experienced guide to sightseeing and main transfers. In order to remain healthy, it is prudent to consume bottled or purified water, wash or sanitize your hands prior to meals, and cover your skin under the sun using a hat and sunscreen.
You will come across uneven stones, steps, and narrow paths when you are walking about old squares, temples, and village streets. Wear comfortable shoes that have a good grip, and be patient. There is no need to rush. In case you are having any mobility problems, you may also inform your guide, and the plan may be tailored to provide more breaks and easy paths.
To be safe in general, leave your treasures in the hotel safe when you are not using them, carry little cash when walking around, and make sure you have your bag when in the crowded markets.
Your cars are operated by licensed and trained drivers, and we suggest that you wear your seat belt at all times. Major cities along the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour have hospitals and clinics in case of emergency, although we hope you will not need them.
Transportation
All travel on the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour is arranged for your comfort. You will take private cars or vans, which are air-conditioned, to drive you to the airport, around Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini in long drives. Having a personal car implies that you can have a break, take a photo, and eat whenever you feel like it suits you.
In Nepal, roads are usually small and zigzag, particularly in the hilly areas, and as such, journeys may take longer time than anticipated. Your driver will travel at a safe speed, and your guide will tell you in advance how long each drive is expected to take. You will be on the left-hand side of the road.
There are no scheduled domestic flights included in the standard Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour, which allows you to see more of the countryside during the drives. You can speak about optional upgrades that can be added to the tour plan, including a mountain flight or helicopter sightseeing, etc.
Travel Insurance
It is strongly recommended that you buy travel insurance before you come on the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour. An emergency medical treatment, hospital care, and an emergency evacuation to a bigger hospital should be included in a good policy. It is also useful when the insurance has the aspect of covering trip cancellation or interruption, lost luggage, and flight delays.
Before departure, you need to obtain your insurance in your home country and bring a copy of your insurance details and emergency contacts, both printed and digital. While your tour operator and guides will do everything they can to keep you safe, insurance gives you extra peace of mind so you can relax and enjoy your Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour without worry.
Your Extra Expenses on the Trip
The Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour covers many services such as hotels, breakfasts, some main meals, private transport, and guided sightseeing. But there are certain personal costs that are not involved. You must budget for lunches and any other dinners not indicated in the itinerary, plus beverages like soft drinks, bottled water between meals, fresh juices, and alcohol.
You can also purchase souvenirs, handicrafts, prayer flags, and local clothes from Kathmandu and Pokhara markets. There is a shopping aspect of fun, and it is expected to politely bargain.
Smaller additional expenses may be laundry, snacks, spa treatments, or optional activities such as boat rides or special shows. Tipping is considered a common and kind practice to thank your guide, driver, and hotel staff for their service. It depends on you, and is determined by the service you feel you have received.
Arrival visa fees and travel insurance are also under your charge. It is also prudent to bring a little Nepali rupee in cash to buy little items, and also to bring a bank card to pay more when staying at a hotel or a larger shop.
Language and Communication
Communication is simple on the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour. Most hotels on the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour have free wireless internet. The cities and main highways have good coverage of mobile phones. If you want a local SIM card, your guide can assist you in purchasing one.
Electricity is two hundred and thirty volts, and largely electric plugs are largely round, and therefore you might be required to have a travel adapter. Through these facilities, you will always keep in touch with your family and friends even as you explore Nepal.
Important Don’ts on this Trip
To show respect and stay safe during the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour, there are a few simple things you should avoid. Drinking tap water or ice produced from tap water should be avoided.

Without politely asking them first, you must not take intimate pictures of individuals, religious ceremonies, or cremation sites. Nepal does not place much emphasis on public expressions of affection like kissing in front of others, which could be considered uncomfortable by the local people. Other things to avoid include not touching anyone on the head, not pointing the soles of your feet at people or religious images.
You must not go out at night, alone, in lonely or strange places. When you want to take the night out, you can take a trusted taxi and inform your guide or hotel. You would also have the option of gentle walks around in the day, spa days, cooking lessons, or cultural performances in Kathmandu and Pokhara. In the case of a bigger trip, your operator may assist in coming up with extensions to destinations such as Bhutan, Tibet, or India. Trip extensions are customizable and are adaptable to your interests, energy, and time.
Photography and Drone Rules
You will have many chances to take beautiful photos on the Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour. You can always use your camera or phone in most of the outdoor locations you have permission to visit, but you must be considerate.
Photography can also be restricted or prohibited in some rooms of some temples and museums, and there are signs. You should never take photos of cremation ceremonies at Pashupatinath, just to mention a few. It is also polite to request permission before taking a close picture of an individual.
In Nepal, the use of drones is regulated by strict laws and normally requires special authorization by the authorities, particularly in the vicinity of airports, in urban areas, and in the areas around heritage sites.
This is why, in many cases, it is simpler to leave drones at home and concentrate on regular photography. You will need to contact your operator beforehand to check the current legislation and the procedure for permits in case you want to bring a drone.
Cultural Festivals on Route
Depending on the time of year, your Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour may coincide with one of Nepal’s colorful festivals. It also has numerous local events throughout the year, such as special days in honor of different gods, goddesses, and spiritual teachers. Your guide will inform you when there is a festival on, and he or she will direct you on how to observe or participate in a respectful manner. Seeing even a small local ceremony can add a special memory to your Nepal at a Glance Luxury tour.
