Trip Introduction
If you have ever dreamed of Nepal from the tales of ancient stories and legends, from the bright colors and the light of sunrises and sunsets, then join us on our Nepal private tour- an exclusively private tour that will take you through the golden triangle of Nepal: Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan, with the added allure of Nagarkot and Manakamana.
Our 9 days-long private tour guide in Nepal will allow you to discover Kathmandu with its unique conjunction between new and old. At 1350 m altitude, the capital enjoys its authenticity, culture, and incredible buildings along with the ever-smiling people.
A visit to the Buddhist symbols of Swayambhunath and Boudhanath, along with the exploration of the Aryaghat- the cremation site is included in the travel program of our Private tour in Nepal.
But, you will also see the Patan and Bhaktapur, where time seems to have paused in the ancient era. The three palace squares of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur still stand today as the silent testimony of their bygone era in which Kings built palaces and cities according to the design of the sage and the Newar artisans.
Then the planned itinerary of our private tour in Nepal will take you 15 km east of Bhaktapur to Nagarkot lookout point at 2175 m above sea level.
Reaching this magical tower before dawn, you will see nature playing its own little show of lighting up the beautiful peaks of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail, 6993 m), Annapurna II (7937 m), and IV (7525 m), Annapurna I (8091 m), the Manaslu massif (8163 m), Bauddha Himal (6672 m), Himalchuli (7893 m), Ganesh Himal (7422 m), Langtang Himal with Langtang Lirung (7246 m), Gangchempo Peak (6387 m), Dorje Lakpa (6966 m), Makalu (8485 m), and in the most clearest weather Everest (8848 m).
Then the journey continues 200 km away from Kathmandu to Pokhara- the city that will never stop enchanting you, no matter how much you visit it. There will always be something new to observe, some new activity to do, and new beauty to admire.
From the mystical Devi’s Falls and Gupteswor Cave to the astounding Pumdikot Shiva Temple, from the extraordinary white monument of White Peace Pagoda to the Phewa Lake, Tal Barahai, there is something for everyone to enjoy and see according to their taste.
Our Nepal private tour will then change the gear and take you to Chitwan National Park – Nepal’s first wildlife sanctuary in the form of a National park. It is a protective refuge to some of the endangered wildlife in the world, such as the Bengal tiger and the Indian rhinoceros.
The ecosystem in the park is also fragile and decorated with tall sal trees, streams, and extensive plains like those of the Savannah. After a jeep or elephant safari or hiking through the delicate environment, you will then breathe the peaceful air in Sauraha with the Tharu community.
As a beautiful conclusion to the trip, you will then journey to Manakamana -the wish fulfillment temple and one of the most visited shrines of Nepal, on your way back to Kathmandu.
In short, our Nepal private tour has every element of an intriguing tour that you can ever desire: places of power, ancient stupas and temples, luxurious nature, beautiful architecture, and a special, slightly mystical atmosphere. Welcome to REAL Nepal!

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley City Tour.
We will devote the entire day to visiting and exploring the significant monuments of the capital. These landmarks stand as a tribute to the hundreds years of history, culture, and architecture of Nepal.
Recognizing their value and importance, UNESCO has thus allocated all these monuments as protected sites. Our first destination will be the Pashupatinath Temple, beautifully located along the serene banks of the Bagmati River.
We will not be able to get inside the temple, but we will visit the cremation site known as Aryaghat, where Hindu cremation rituals take place. It may seem spooky at first but it will give you a new perspective for sure.
Next, we will head the largest and oldest Buddhist structure of Nepal- the Boudhanath stupa. Located about 10 km northeast of the city, it was built around the 3rd century BC and rebuilt in the 9th century.
Its main stupa has the shape of a hemisphere made from bricks and concrete to support the conical gilded spire. The all-seeing gaze of Buddha is depicted on its each side. This place is kind of kaleidoscope of several pagodas, chortens and chaityas.
Now, we will get to the excursion of Swayambhunath Stupa located on a high mountain to the west of Kathmandu. Numerous Tibetan Gompas and schools can be seen in all directions of this temple.
The unique character of this stupa is the harmonic worship of it both by the Buddhists and the Hindus. A small sanctuary has been built for Hindus near the stupa.
To get to the main stupa, we will have to overcome the 365 vertical stone steps depicting the number of days in a year. The sides of the stupa look at the four directions of the Universe with the ancient symbol of the EYES of the BUDDHA.
The next monument on our list is the old Palace Square of Kathmandu fondly called as Hanuman Dhoka or Basantapur by the locals. This square contains numerous figures that depict the old and new religious, spiritual, and cultural life of the Nepali people.
It was here that the Kings before and after the unification of Nepal were crowned and the celebrations used to be the sight to behold.
There is also the three-story palace of the virgin goddess Kumari, Kasthmandap Temple (the oldest temple founded from one single wood and the oldest surviving wooden building), the Taleju Temple, the giant Kal Bhairav statue, and numerous other small pagodas and temples.
After we conclude our Kathmandu visitation, you can now head to Thamel, the tourist corner of the capital where the air buzzes with the constant melodious sound of the lively parodies and music.

Day 03: Sightseeing in the valley & overnight at Nagarkot. (2175 m).
We will get one more introduction to other old palace squares of the Kathmandu Valley. And, that includes the Patan Palace (Durbar) Square and the Bhaktapur Palace Square.
Although Patan is very close to the capital (5 km southeast of Kathmandu), it still has that medieval flavor that has been lost in Kathmandu. Also called lovingly as Lalitpur, this city is a true representation of Newari fine arts and beauty.
Although small, the number of ancient treasures in the form of temples, Buddhist pagodas, and other monuments here exceeds than those found in Kathmandu. However, this site is mainly known for housing the Hiranaya Varna Mahavir Golden Temple of Buddha and the Krishna Temple.
We will now transfer to the Palace Square of Bhaktapur at 1400 m which still today has preserved its ancient air and uniqueness since the 9th century. The fantastic culture of this place, the aura, the temples, and the festivities all are enough to enchant any traveler who visits this distinct museum.
The Royal Palace, the 55 Windows Palace, the Golden Gate, and the Nyatpole Temple are only some of the architectural treasures of this place that are ready to dazzle you with their beauty and unique craft.
It’s now time that we get into our transport and head to Nagarkot which will take us on the eastern side of Kathmandu Valley. At 2175 m elevation, this hill station is one of the iconic resorts to relax our nerves.

Day 04: Drive from Nagarkot to Pokhara.
At the daybreak, we will now take a short hike up to the viewpoint of the Nagarkot. The Viewpoint is not inferior in terms of beauty to other popular viewpoints of Nepal.
The illuminating lights of the first sunlight sparkle on the snowy tips of Ganesh, Everest, Langtang, Manaslu, and Gaurishankar. After gazing at their extraordinary beauty we will now travel back to our hotel for breakfast.
Our private transport is now ready to whisk us away along the Prithvi Highway towards Pokhara. At Trishuli, we already can see numerous rafters enjoying the white currents of the river.
We will however push on this time along the Muglin Narayanghat Highway to reach Pokhara by early evening. En route, Manakamana Shakti (Goddess) will bless us while Bandipur on the other hand regarded as the ancient pearl of Nepal is ready to take us back in time.
The old brick houses and the narrow streets of this town used to be the old trade routes of Nepal between Tibet and India.
Eventually, the two tails of Fishtail (Machhapuchhre) and the sparkling white figure of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri can be seen in the distance. That’s it, Pokhara is here, the heavenly town of lakes, Himalayas, hills, and caves.
Since we will have one full day in this magical city, we will leisurely enjoy our evening by the Fewa shore.

Day 05: Sightseeing in Pokhara Valley.
If you plan to meet the dawn with the cold embrace of the white Himalayas, then you should wake up early and hike up to the 1600 m high Sarangkot View Tower.
It is a cult place mainly for travelers like us where the magnificently beautiful panorama of the white Himalayas awaits us. The pyramidal peaks of Annapurnas, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, Himchuli, Lamjung, and Manaslu sparkle like beautiful diamonds under the cloudless sky.
If you are not a morning person, you can still enjoy the spectacle of these eastern Himalayas from the terrace of your lodging or you can simply hike up to the Sarangkot in the evening to see the mesmerizing sunset.
After this priceless sunrise, we will now get ready for an excursion to Pokhara City. A boat will be waiting on the banks of Fewa which will take us further onto the white waters of the lake.
The calm water shows the beautiful reflection of Dhaulagiri and Fishtail mountain peaks. As we boat further, the amazing island temple of Barahi will greet us in the middle of the lake.
Now, let’s hike 2 km further and reach the 1250 m high White Peace Pagoda. As a representation of unity and the new beginning of peace and humanity, this marvelous white structure was built by Nipponzan Myohoji after the Second World War.
After going through many reconstructions, it finally established itself as the symbol of unity among people of all religions, and races. Inside the pagoda, we can see four statues of Buddha enhanced by the beauty of the surrounding nature and the view of the Annapurna peaks.
Then we will move on to take a short city tour and see the main attractions including Davis Falls, Seti Gorge, Kali Temple, and Tibetan Refugee Camp. There is also Bat Cave, Gupteswor Cave, and Mahendra Cave to explore.
Attention
If you are looking for a more adventurous experience rather than just leisurely exploring the sights, Pokhara offers a range of thrilling activities such as bungee jumping, zip lining, and paragliding from Sarangkot’s peak. Additionally, ultralight flights are also available for those who are interested. All these additional programs can be managed at the extra fare.

Day 06: Drive from Pokhara to Chitwan National Park.
After finishing the Pokhara exploration, we will now direct our attention to Chitwan National Park. From Pokhara, our journey will proceed once again along the beautiful Highway named after the first King of unified Nepal: Prithvi Narayan Shah till we cross Byas and Bandipur to reach the Narayangadh – Muglin Highway.
Now, we will take the bypass road that leads us to Bharatpur. Now the lush forests and wide cultivated fields begin to appear hinting we are soon reaching our target destination Chitwan National Park.
Our accommodation will be in a hotel of the three-star category within the Chitwan jungle where we will take some moments to recover. Then, we will meet the biologists of the park working to study the ecology of the park.
The park extends to the expansive area of 952.63 square kilometers on a low forested hill. It is one of the remaining wild where we can spot the elusive Royal tiger and Indian rhinoceros roaming in the wild.
It also provides refuge to several animals such as deer, langurs, more than 400 types of birds, wild boar, leopards, and bears. Approximately 60 Bengal tigers reside within the park. Because of its biodiversity, the park has been recognized as a Heritage Location by UNESCO.

Day 07: Jungle Explore in Chitwan National Park.
We will commence our day early and go on a morning safari in Chitwan National Park. Morning hours are the exquisite hours to see the forest and its inhabitants awakening in its splendor.
We can either go for a walking tour, a jeep ride, or an elephant excursion. We suggest you go for either a walking safari or a four-hour jeep tour instead of an elephant ride considering the welfare of these magnificent creatures.
During a hiking safari, two park rangers will follow you, one leading the way and the other on the back to ensure your safety. They will also guide you to areas where most sightings of the wild animals occur.
If you choose the jeep safari, a driver and a guide will be with you, who will share fascinating facts about the wildlife and the ecosystem. Sitting in a jeep, you will be observing rhinos, tigers, and other wildlife roaming freely on their home turf.
After the safari, you may visit the elephant farm which has numerous elephants of all ages. It will be enjoyable to see the playful newborn elephants interacting with their older relatives. If you are interested, you can also bathe the baby elephants.
Additionally, you can also engage in a leisurely boat ride along the Rapti, Narayani, or Reu Rivers and meet the Gharials, Muggers, freshwater dolphins, and several other water birds.
After finishing the exploration of the park, we will return to our hotel to prepare for an enchanting evening with the Tharu community in the nearby village of Sauraha.
The young men and women of this tribe will entertain us with the captivating Tharu Stick Dance that ends with a spectacular fire show.

Day 08: Drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu via Manakamana Temple.
Our 9 days long Nepal private tour is coming to a close. After some farewell with the Park rangers and the Tharu people, we will now venture along the Sauraha road.
Soon, we will meet Bharatpur again from where the Mahendra Highway will lead us to the bifurcated road. Here, we will turn right and travel along the bypass road towards Narayangadh – Muglin Highway.
After journeying for a while, the Prithvi Highway will greet us again and take us to Kurintar of Darechok. The famous cable car station that ascends to the Manakamana Temple perched atop a 1300 m hill is located here.
Riding in the cable car will be another thrill and stepping into the religious temple is another. The Shakti (Goddess Parvati) here loves all her committed and honest-hearted devotes and fulfills their every wish and dream.
We may be among those and so we pray for our wishes as well. It is now time to take the cable car again and descend to the Prithvi Highway to travel back to the capital through the mesmerizing Trishuli.
If you still got some traveling bug inside you, you can take a tour inside the Garden of Dreams of Thamel which remains open until 10 pm. We will visit your hotel to take you to one of the exquisite Nepali restaurants to enjoy your final dinner in Nepal.

Trip Information
Essential Info
Best Time for a Private Tour in Nepal
Kathmandu, Nagarkot, and Pokhara are influenced by the warm temperate climate while Chitwan weather is shaped by the humid subtropical monsoon climate.
Taking these into consideration, the private tour in Nepal can be taken in all four seasons of Nepal: spring, winter, summer/monsoon, and Fall/autumn. But for the best vacation experience, you should take this tour in either spring or autumn.
Spring starts from the early days of March and spans till the final days of May. During this time, the colors adorn the landscape of all these cities immersing them in the rare beauty. The faded and depressed winter trees turn green, the blades of grass appear, and the animals also wake up and become enormously active.
Autumn begins from the mid-days of September and continues till November bringing with it a unique load of magic. After the long frenzy of summer, the days start to get slow, the hot temperature starts to become milder and the sky turns so blue you may think you can drown in it. It is the second spring when the landscape of Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nagarkot, and Chitwan looks like a magical oil painting.
Winter beginning from the early days of December and continuing up to the last days of February is not too bad either. The winter brings silence, cold, and brightly sunny days perfect for outdoor actions like touring and hiking.
Among all the cities, only Nagarkot is the one that experiences snowfall in winter, especially during the peak months of January and February when occasional snow can be seen. True, the morning sighting of the Himalayas may not be guaranteed but the afternoon sunny weather will give you the most enchanting view of the mountains.
Summer on the other hand commences from the early days of June and continues till the early days of September. All three cities along with Nagarkot receive the heaviest rainfall in Nepal.
When it rains, the morning can be smoggy and foggy with louder and longer thunderstorms in the afternoon. In the absence of rain, the days will be longer, hotter, and humid.
Some activities such as boating or rafting in Chitwan, paragliding or bungee jumping in Pokhara may become impossible while the visits to the monuments will also be frequently interrupted by sudden heavy downpours. Therefore, you should avoid planning this tour during this season.
Challenge Level of Nepal Private Tour
Our private tour guide in Nepal is one of the best and easiest road trips you will take through the enchanting golden triads of Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara.
With the exertion of the great attraction, this tour is guaranteed to conquer your heart and mind. You will travel through the most efficient and comfortable mode of transportation- the private 4 by 4 spacious vehicle provided with a private driver and tour guide.

Believe us when we tell you it will be just you, the road in front of you, and the wonderful visual of the landscape. You can journey at your comfortable pace and flexibly. There will be no timetables or mandatory stops: you can go where you want when you want.
And, to top it all, we have only included the locations that lie below 2000 m altitude except for Nagarkot Hill station which extends to 2175 m altitude above sea level.
Therefore, you don’t need to worry about acute mountain sickness at all. We have arranged for you to stay in the best three-star hotels available in all the selected locations.
In just eight days, you will get to experience all: the beautifully dazzling Himalayas, the Savannah-like terrain, the active rare animals in the wild, the overview of the vast Terai plains, the centuries-old man-made artifacts, and more.

In Patan, do not miss the chance to taste the Maas ko Bara (black lentil pancake) and Yomari (sweet rice flour dumpling). As for beverages, rakshi (local liquor), Chang (fermented rice alcoholic drink), Lassi (creamy yogurt drink), and Masala Tea.
Transportation
Throughout the Nepal private tour, we will provide you with only spacious and comfortable private 4×4 transportation for all your travel needs.
Whether it’s airport transfer-in or transfer-out, hotel pickups, or trips to your chosen destinations and monuments, you will enjoy the luxury of a private vehicle be it a car, jeep, van, or bus, customized to the size of your group.
Our tour guide and a licensed driver will also be with you during the entire duration.
Mobile Phone Service and Internet/WiFi
You will face no difficulties in making phone calls and browsing mobile internet in Nepal. Currently, two main mobile networks are operated in the country: one is the government-run Namaste network that provides prepaid and postpaid services and the other is the private Ncell network.
You can acquire a SIM card and activate the service of these networks within minutes, even at the airport or in local markets. The cost of a SIM card in Nepal is very low, and you can choose from a range of internet data packages that offer several gigabytes of internet with 4G connectivity.
Additionally, you can also go for the virtual SIM cards of these networks that can be purchased online. Their activation is facilitated online through the scanning of the QR Code.
High-speed WiFi is also freely available in hotels, shops, restaurants, and bars.
Preparation before the Nepal Private Tour
The travel program of our private tour guide in Nepal does not include any strenuous hiking activities, apart from a simple hike to the Nagarkot View Tower and a one-hour easy ascent to the Sarangkot Outlook Tower (optional choice).
You will also engage in easy walking while touring the monuments. In Chitwan, you have the option for a jungle walk during the safari. So, to be well-prepared for these activities, you should start a fitness routine at least one month before your departure to Nepal.
Some effective routines and activities involve walking, gentle jogging, stair climbing, and doing push-ups.
We also suggest you prepare your personal first aid kit and keep all your personal medications if you take any. Most of the medications (almost 80 percent) in Nepal come from India which may be not up to your expected standards.
Safety during the Nepal Private Tour
Nepal is one of the least criminal countries especially for tourists though there has been some rise in petty crime in the urban areas. Mostly, minor incidents such as theft can happen in crowded locations and during the festive season.
Additionally, road safety is also improving now and we provide an experienced and licensed driver for all your travel during the tour. You will also be in the company of our reliable tourist guide so even if you are a lone female traveler, you don’t have to fret about your security.
The locals here are also very kind, generous, and helpful so please feel at ease throughout your journey. However, a bit of common sense will never hurt such as keeping your valuables out of sight, not leaving your bags unattended, and storing them securely when not in use.
Another topic of concern for our guests is the earthquake. Yes, Nepal is under a highly seismic region and earthquakes here of 4 to 5 magnitude keep occurring at least ten times a year. But they are not devastating and are very minor ones.
According to the predictions, such a high-magnitude earthquake will only happen after 50 years so you will probably be not here when and if that happens.
How to make the payment in Nepal? Online Payment options
The currency that is used in Nepal is called the Nepalese rupee however many traders are also open to accepting the payments in American dollars and Euros.
You can exchange your home currency for Nepalese rupees at TIA, but it won’t be necessary as we will be picking you up from the airport. It will be very convenient if you change your money at the bank or money changing counters.
Some reliable banks for currency exchange are Himalayan Bank, Everest Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Nabil Bank, and SBI Bank, where you can get favorable exchange rates.
Remember to convert only a small amount of your money at a time as the Nepalese rupee is not convertible, and you will be left with cash that is not changeable to your home currency.
Please avoid exchanging money at your hotel or in Thamel or Durbar Marg, where a higher commission may be charged for the service. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted now in many urban areas and major businesses but keep in mind extra fees may be added to your bill. So please keep some cash with you to avoid extra charges.
As for ATMs, you will easily find them from various banks which are scattered in the streets of Kathmandu and Pokhara. When getting out the cash from ATMs, extract a minimum of ten thousand Nepali rupees at a time so minimum transaction will be carried out as each transaction can cost you an additional NPR 100 to NPR 700 charge.
Payments through online are also now increasingly popular and you can even pay for a packet of cigarettes online. The major mobile applications for making online payments in Nepal are the Khalti and Esewa which you can easily download and install from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
Travel Insurance
Whenever you decide to travel to a new country, it means you are also opening the doors to numerous surprises which can be both sweet and bitter. Since we want you to only focus on sweet surprises, we encourage you to get travel insurance before coming to Nepal.
During the tour, you can be prone to numerous unfortunate incidents such as sudden health issues (infection, stomachache, injuries), lost, stolen, delayed, or damaged luggage, or any unexpected event that can force you to cancel or abandon your trip or extend your stay.
So, we request you to get the travel insurance that encompass the broad coverage. Your policy should include medical coverage that provides unlimited expenses, 24 hours 7 days medical assistance, repatriation, and emergency transport.
Additionally, your policy should also have coverage for lost, damaged, delayed, or stolen baggage, which will allow you to claim funds for basic items.
Also, having coverage for trip or flight cancellations will enable you to collect reimbursement for any expenses incurred during your travels.
