Trip Information

How Difficult is Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour

Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour is rated as medium difficulty and can be undertaken by riders who have little to no experience in off-road riding. Every day will have 5-8 hours of riding through the rocky mountain paths, and two days of walking to the top (4,065 m / 13,336 ft). The routes are not very technical, but they require good control, balance, and endurance.

Riding on the elevated levels, particularly above 3,000 m (9,843 ft), may be more exhausting since the air is thinner. The trekking activities provide additional exertion, as approximately 10-12 km of trekking over rocky and uphill trails.

With adequate preparation, the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour can be a lot easier. Long rides, hiking, and cardio fitness training build stamina. The speed is adjusted to ease with the help of experienced teams from Himalayan Adventure Treks. In general, the Pikey Peak Bike Tour is adventurous, yet can be handled by active travelers.

Weather and Best Season for Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour

The Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour is best done in spring, from March to May, and autumn, from late September to November. The seasons are also predictable, and the skies tend to be clear with wonderful views of the mountains at elevations such as 4,065 m (13,336 ft).

The Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour goes through rhododendron forests in spring, which are in blossom, and the daytime is mild. Another good season is autumn, when the air is fresh, and the riding is comfortable. It can be cool in the mornings and evenings, particularly in higher altitudes above 3,000 m (9,843 ft).

The monsoon rains that occur between the months of June and August cause the roads to become muddy and thus not very easy to ride. The temperatures during the winter period (December to February) may be cold, and snow may fall at higher altitudes.

To have the most comfortable experience, schedule your Pikey Peak Bike Tour in spring or autumn and pack the right layered clothes.

Food & Drink during the Trip

On the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour, food is basic and locally made. Hotels in Kathmandu and Mulkot offer breakfast, and the rest of the meals are not included and can be bought on the way. Simple Nepali food and hot beverages can be found in the villages and teahouses.

The food is most frequently consumed in the form of dal bhat, which comprises rice, lentils, and vegetables. Others include noodles, pasta, momos, and thukpa. Food options are also scarcer but still satisfying and healthy at the higher elevations, such as Jhapre (2,920 m / 9,580 ft).

One should also make sure to remain hydrated during the Pikey Peak Bike Tour, particularly when going above 3,000 m (9,843 ft). Never use tap water; use boiled or bottled water.

It is good to have snacks such as nuts, chocolate, and energy bars on board on long rides and treks. Simple local tastes contribute to the experience.

Altitude Sickness and Suggestions

The highest elevation during the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour is 4,065 m (13,336 ft), and is high enough to cause some travelers to experience mild altitude sickness. They may be in the form of headache, dizziness, or fatigue, particularly at higher altitudes.

To minimize the risk, the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour itinerary will enable a gradual increase with overnights at such destinations as Charikot (2,160 m / 7,087 ft) and Jhapre (2,920 m / 9,580 ft). This will assist your body in adapting to the rising altitude in a natural way.

One should drink lots of water, eat well, and avoid alcohol. A slow but consistent pace of walking and rest when necessary can also be used to avoid discomfort.

Himalayan Adventure Treks guides will watch over your well-being and help when needed. Basic altitude medication may be helpful, but it should be discussed with a doctor. Most travelers complete the Pikey Peak Bike Tour safely with proper care.

Preparation and Fitness

To have fun during the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour, being physically fit is essential. The tour incorporates lengthy rides and hikes to higher altitudes. Riders must be able to ride the motorcycles on rough roads for 6-8 hours on the bike.

In order to train, it is beneficial to build stamina by engaging in regular exercises such as jogging, cycling, or hiking. Leg and core strength training will enhance stability during the rides and uphill walks. Confidence can also be instilled by practicing riding on gravel or rough roads.

As the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour involves walking at an altitude of over 3,000 m (9,843 ft), your body must be in a condition of prolonged physical activity. The exercises that will aid recovery on the journey will be stretching and flexibility.

When well-prepared and in the right frame of mind, the tour will be more fun and less exhausting, and you will be able to enjoy the adventure.

Visa and Permits for Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour in Nepal

In the case of the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour, everyone will require a valid visa to get into Nepal. A Tourist Visa is easily issued to most of the nationalities upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. You need to have passport photographs and sufficient cash to pay the visa fee. You should also carry a copy of your passport and visa with you when on the Pikey Peak Bike Tour.

The trek involves places like Sagarmatha National Park and Gaurishankar Conservation Area, and thus several permits are needed. You need a Sagarmatha National Park Permit, the Gaurishankar Conservation Area Permit, and a local Solukhumbu permit. Such permits include conservation and entry fees for the area.

All the permits will be taken care of by the Himalayan Adventure Treks. This tour does not need a TIMS card. In addition, remember to bring along an authentic motorcycle driving license.

Health & Safety

Health and safety play a crucial role in the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour, particularly in the journey to greater heights. Wear a helmet and the correct riding equipment whenever on the motorcycle. Always ride cautiously and always follow the directions of your guide since the mountain roads are sometimes narrow and rough.

In the trekking section, trekking poles can be used to improve balance. To remain healthy during the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour, drink only boiled or bottled water, and wash your hands before eating. It is also crucial when it comes to sun protection, and you should carry sunscreen and glasses.

In case of fatigue or the occurrence of the symptoms of altitude sickness above 3,000 m (9,843 ft), report them to your guide. First-aid assistance is provided on the Pikey Peak Bike Tour. Observe local traditions and be conscious of the environment to have a hassle-free trip.

Transportation

The Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour is well organized in terms of transportation to have a smooth trip. You will be riding a Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 motorbike, which can be used both on paved roads and off-road. The trail encompasses highway, dirt trails, and mountain trails, and provides a combination of riding experiences.

You have a support vehicle, which accompanies the group with their luggage, spares, and equipment. It will have a backup in the event of any mechanical problems or if the rider requires any support. Navigation is handled by the team, allowing you to enjoy the ride.

Airport pick-up and all the ground transportation throughout the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour are included. The package does not, however, include international flights to and from Kathmandu. The ride is scenic and adventurous, starting in the lower areas and going to the higher elevations.

Travel Insurance

It is essential to take travel insurance when visiting the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour due to the high altitudes of the trip, which are as high as 4,065 m (13,336 ft). High-altitude trekking, medical emergencies, and helicopter evacuation should be covered in a good insurance policy.

As this tour involves the use of a motorcycle, it is worth ensuring that your insurance covers the use of motorbikes too. Not all policies contain this, and therefore, check out the details prior to your Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour.

Even though the team offers some simple first-aid assistance, severe medical cases might need professional assistance. A good insurance cover will provide you with financial cover in the event of emergencies.

Bring a copy of your insurance documents on the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour. By having the right coverage, you will be able to travel freely and enjoy the experience to its fullest without having to worry about unforeseen circumstances.

Alternative Routes to Pikey Peak

The Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour typically involves a 9-day circuit that is a combination of riding and trekking. Nonetheless, one can find several other options based on time and preference. An alternative would be to begin the trip nearer to the Everest area, which saves on the length of the riding days.

Some people might also continue the journey to adjoining areas, which takes more days and permits. Changes can be made due to the road or weather conditions, particularly in the higher regions above 3,000 m (9,843 ft).

The team in such situations can change the path to make it safe and comfortable. These minor differences do not influence the experience of the tour. The regular itinerary should be adhered to in order to have a balanced Pikey Peak Bike Tour, although you may refer to the option of customization in advance.

Accommodation

Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour accommodation is a combination of comfortable hotels and basic mountain lodges. You will be staying in a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu, which includes breakfast, has clean rooms, and up-to-date facilities. You will be staying in a 3-star resort at Mulkot, also with breakfast, where you can unwind after extensive rides.

There is a 3-star resort in Charikot, where you can spend the night, but not have a meal. Further into elevation, such as Phaplu (2,413 m / 7,917 ft) and Jhapre (2,920 m / 9,580 ft), lodging is in simple teahouses. They are simple but sanitary and have common facilities and a few services.

On the tour around Pikey Peak (4,065 m / 13,336 ft), the stay can be simple lodging or camping. In general, the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour is a combination of a comfortable stay in cities and a simple stay in remote mountains.

Your Extra Expenses on Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour

There are certain personal costs not covered by the package during the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour. You need to budget for meals in Kathmandu, Mulkot, and throughout the tour, where a meal will cost you about 5 to 10 USD. Eating is simple, but there are fewer options in higher altitudes, such as Jhapre (2,920 m / 9,580 ft).

Drinks like bottled water, tea, or coffee along the way will also be an extra expense that you will have to pay. Mountain lodges charge a minimal fee to take hot showers, and only a few areas, such as Kathmandu, can offer laundry services.

Personal equipment, guide tips, and other little gifts are also at your own cost. The package does not include travel insurance, visa charges, or international flights. To be on the safe side, it is advisable to bring along a good amount of cash in Nepali rupees.

Language & Communication

Language in the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour is not a significant obstacle. The official language is Nepali, although in some parts of Nepal, such as Solukhumbu, there are also local languages of Sherpa and Tamang. Basic English is known by many people in towns and tourist locations.

Your guide will speak clearly and assist with translation where necessary, in remote villages like Jhapre (2,920 m / 9,580 ft). This facilitates communication with the locals and makes it more pleasant. It can be beneficial to learn some basic Nepali words, such as Namaste to greet and Dhanyabad to say thank you, which locals can appreciate.

The availability of the mobile network in low areas is good, but as you go high it becomes limited. Before going out of Kathmandu (1,350 m / 4,430 ft), it is a good idea to download maps or essential contacts. In general, communication is easy with guidance and a friendly manner during the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour.

Mobile Network, Internet & Charging Facilities

In the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour, mobile network services are accessible in the major towns like Kathmandu (1,350 m / 4,430 ft), Charikot (2,160 m / 7,087 ft), and Phaplu (2,413 m / 7,917 ft). Signal can be poor in such areas as Jhapre (2,920 m / 9,580 ft), and past this point, it is typical to have no network at all.

Hotels in Kathmandu and Mulkot have internet access, and mountain teahouses do not offer Wi-Fi. Before going to remote areas, it is preferable to inform family or friends.

In Nepal, the power supply is 220 V, and it is available in hotels and a few lodges. But in elevated areas, electricity tends to be solar-powered and scarce. It is very advisable to carry a power bank to ensure that your devices are charged. The trip can also be characterized by a universal adapter, which is handy with various types of plugs.

Don’ts on This Trip

When doing the Pikey Peak Motorbike Tour, there are certain safety and respect rules to be considered. Do not litter along the trail. It is better to take your waste with you to the correct disposal sites.

Do not walk off designated paths, particularly in elevated locations such as around Pikey Peak (4,065 m / 13,336 ft). Show respect to local culture by seeking permission before taking photographs or visiting houses or temples.

Alcohol should not be consumed when riding because it is inappropriate and risky. Dress in a modest manner and show respect for the local customs.

Drones are prohibited unless with special permits, and it is best to avoid using them on the trip. Do not overwork yourself when you are feeling tired or unwell. Report to your guide so that you can have the necessary support. These are just a few rules to be followed in order to have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Photography & Drone Rules

Photography can be prohibited in religious sites like monasteries. Always check with your guide before taking pictures inside sacred areas.

Drones are strictly controlled in Nepal. Operating a drone should be approved by the authorities and must have a drone permit. During the trip, the use of drones is prohibited.

Even without drones, you can get spectacular shots of the Himalayas, particularly in the areas around Pikey Peak (4,065 m / 13,336 ft). The safest way to document your memories of traveling is to use a camera or a smartphone.

Upper Mustang....trekking eccezionale Un trekking fantastico nell'Upper Mustang. Paesaggi sorprendenti, un'atmosfera unica in cui la maestosità delle montagne si affianca all'autenticità dei villaggi. Esperienza davvero consigliabile, soprattutto se vissuta con la guida di Badry. Grande professionalità e simpatia.

ABC trek - fantastic experience with Himalayan Adventure Himalayan trek and adventure (Bhagwat and team) were fantastic and provided a great service. They were great from our first communication and went beyond to help our adhoc requirements during the trip. Guide (Bharat) and our porter (Heera) were very helpful and took care of us when needed during the trek. I strongly recommend Bhagwat and team if anyone is looking for a reliable tour operator in Nepal.

I highly recommend this trekking tour! From the very beginning of the planning process, the travel agency was always responsive and patient in answering all of our questions. From the moment we arrived in Kathmandu, everything was well organized and ran smoothly without any unnecessary waiting. Every evening, we had a briefing that clearly explained what to expect the following day, which helped us prepare both mentally and physically for the trek. Both our guide and porter were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help us with any small issues along the way. Their support made the entire experience even more enjoyable. I truly recommend this ABC Trek to anyone looking to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayas. It was an unforgettable journey!

Trip to Tibet & EBC ... Excellent ! The trip was divided into two destinations: Lhasa (Tibet) and Everest Base Camp in Nepal. The first thing to highlight is that thanks to Bhagwat, the owner of Himalayan Adventure, we organized all the travel details in advance: dates, hotels, contact with guides and drivers, flights, visas, departure and arrival times, itineraries in each city, meals, porters, helicopter, and ground and air transfers. We discussed and organized everything online almost two months beforehand, and... everything worked perfectly! Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our driver met us at the airport. We arrived at the hotel, located in the heart of the tourist area, and were greeted by Bhagwat himself. He gave us our visas and tickets to Tibet. From the air, we saw the majestic Himalayan mountain range, with breathtaking views of its peaks and valleys. In Tibet, we were met at the airport. After a long journey to Lhasa, we rested at the hotel. For the next three days, we were transported in a private van to various points of interest, including monasteries, the magnificent Potala Palace, restaurants, and city squares. Our guide provided comprehensive explanations of every aspect of life, culture, Buddhism, sacred sites, and history. We visited the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung and Sera Monasteries, and took a trip to Yamdroke Lake. The hotel was very well located on Barkhor Street. And now… on to Everest and… a legendary flight to Lukla (all safe and sound). We met our guide and porter, Ang Pemba Sherpa and Ang Dorje Sherpa, excellent people and wonderful travel companions throughout our journey. For the next eight days, we trekked through breathtaking landscapes towards Phakding and Namche Bazaar, followed by longer climbs to Tangboche and Dingboche. At the heights of Lobuche and Gorakshep, we were short of breath, but thanks to our experienced guide, we overcame it. Finally, the long trek to base camp, through wind and snow – celebrations, hugs… an excellent experience. An incredible helicopter ride back to Lukla and then on to Kathmandu – everything went according to plan. It was a wonderful experience, and we are grateful for all the support and organization from Himalayan Adventure, Bhagwat (its owner), and all his team. Hugs to everyone, and until next time!

Highly recommended!!! COME COME COME 我! 非常喜歡💕 We absolutely loved this trip! We highly recommend everyone to come and experience it for yourselves! From the warm airport pickup to our first night at the hotel, the tour guide and the owner were incredibly welcoming. Every evening, they would brief us on the following day’s itinerary. For our domestic flight, the agency and our guide thoughtfully arranged seats with views of the Himalayas. Every transition during our commute went smoothly, and any administrative needs, such as currency exchange or access to filtered water, were met promptly and efficiently. During the six days in the mountains, we were taken care of by a highly professional guide who led us with great skill. Whenever any team member faced challenges, the guide provided immediate care and heartfelt encouragement. Our four porters were also incredibly professional and strong in their support of us. Of course, every step of the climb was a wonderful opportunity to converse with nature and ourselves. The moment we all successfully reached the summit was an indescribably moving experience! 🥹🥹🥹⛰️🏔️ You all must come and experience this in person! On our final night, the owner personally joined us for a wonderful farewell dinner. Throughout the entire journey, we could truly feel the dedication, care, and professionalism in every aspect of the agency's services. We loved it so much! 💕 Namaste & धन्यवाद (。・ω・。)ノ

anaporna circuit motorcycle tour Let me start by saying: this was easily one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a motorcycle tour abroad. The organization, the route, our incredible guide, and the support crew (driver and mechanic)—everything was absolutely flawless!!! We were led by a local guide named Badri Karki, who was our lead rider. His guiding was warm, insightful, and it was obvious he has a massive love for Nepal and endless patience for the riders. We felt incredibly lucky to have him leading the pack. The bikes were top-notch and perfectly maintained. The crew took care of every single request to tweak the setups so they fit each rider perfectly. They ran maintenance checks twice a day, leaving nothing for us to do but just enjoy the twisties and the scenery. Any minor mechanical issue was sorted out quietly without delaying the group. It gave us an amazing sense of confidence and peace of mind knowing we were in such good hands. The route was spectacular! Nepal is breathtaking, and the Nepalese people are even more amazing. I want to say a huge thank you to [Company Name] for one of the most unique and beautiful riding trips of my life. Thank you! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

An unforgettable motorcycle adventure in Nepal Dear Himalayan Adventure Team, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for an unforgettable motorcycle adventure in Nepal. This was a true motorcycle expedition—challenging, exciting, and incredibly rewarding. Every day brought new landscapes, winding mountain roads, and unforgettable experiences. A special thank you to our amazing guide, Badri Karki. Your professionalism, patience, kindness, and deep knowledge made this journey so much more than just a ride. Thank you to Simkhada Bhagwat, the owner of Himalayan Adventure, for organizing such an outstanding trip. Everything was well planned, from the beautiful accommodations to the incredible route. One of the absolute highlights was visiting and staying in the villages of Upper Mustang. Experiencing the local culture and spending nights there was something I will never forget. Thank you for creating memories that will stay with me for a lifetime. With sincere appreciation, Daniel Israel
